We use therapeutic methods with evidence-based practices behind them — and we deliver them the way people actually need them: patiently, practically, and without judgement.
How we workBefore anything else, we listen. Our work begins with understanding your story on your terms, without assumptions about what you need or how quickly you should need it.
We draw on CBT, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused practice, and ART — approaches with evidence-based practices behind them — and adapt them to you rather than fitting you to a protocol.
You should leave sessions with something usable: a skill, a reframe, a next step. Insight matters, but so does what happens on a difficult Tuesday afternoon.
Goals are set together and revisited together. You always know what we are working on and why, and you are free to change direction as your needs change.
Our team
Fit matters more than almost anything else in therapy. Read a little about each of us and choose the person who feels right — or let us help you decide.

Four steps from first contact to ongoing support — at whatever pace works for you.
Book online, call, or send us a message. Start with a free 15-minute consultation if you would like to talk things through first.
You choose the therapist or coach who feels right for you. Read their profiles, or use a free consultation to help you decide.
Consent, confidentiality, and the beginning of your story. You set the pace and we start shaping goals together.
Ongoing sessions, in person or online, with progress reviewed together and adjusted as your needs change.
Many benefit plans cover counselling from a qualified psychologist. We direct bill most providers — Sunlife and some smaller insurers excepted.
We open at 8:00 am every weekday, run until 8:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and offer Saturday mornings. No referral is needed to see a psychologist in Alberta.
Meet us at our SE Calgary office or by secure video from home. Telehealth sessions are the same rate as in person.
Common questions
Answers to what most people ask us first — coverage, fit, and what actually happens in that first session.
Read all FAQsMany health benefit plans cover counselling from a qualified psychologist. We offer direct billing through most providers, with the exception of Sunlife and some smaller insurers. We recommend confirming your coverage and any annual maximum with your provider before your first session.
Fit matters more than almost anything else in therapy, which is why we offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation. Use it to share what you are hoping to work on and to get a feel for how the therapist responds. If the approach is not the right match, we would rather help you find one that is.
The first session covers informed consent, the limits of confidentiality, and a few administrative details. From there, it starts the process of building rapport, exploring your story, and establishing goals. You set the pace — there is no expectation that you arrive with everything figured out.
Our two primary approaches are Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), which focuses on mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which addresses unhelpful thought patterns and the behaviours that follow from them. Treatment plans are customised to each client rather than applied from a template. Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is also available.
